We've had the privilege of being able to interview Dustin Martian, hit producer and collaborator behind brainchild Titanic Sinclair. Dustin Martian co-produced Mars Argo & Poppys beginning catalogue
1. Personal Growth: What's the biggest lesson you've learned about yourself in the past year?
That I can work myself to death and not die.
2. Career Milestones: What's your proudest career moment, and why?
Honestly, it's not the big standout things on my reel or portfolio that I'm proudest of. it's those moments I'm standing with an artist after a stellar recording or session and they are asking me "when can I hear it??" or "can we put this out right away?". those are the moments I'm most proud of.
3. Balancing Fame and Family: How do you balance your public life with your personal life, especially when it comes to family?
It's imbalanced. a job you get to leave at work, but a career is 24/7 and includes your whole life all the time, all of the time. I keep family members off my socials for their safety and privacy, even if I don't want to.
4. Mental Health: How do you manage stress and anxiety, especially in the public eye?
If you can control your breath, you can control your heart rate and thus--control your anxiety. after a while of putting yourself out there, you get numb to it. and the numbness helps. experience is like building a callus on your fingertips when learning guitar... the more you do anything the less it hurts... like if you're burning in Hell for all eternity eventually that becomes your new normal and feels like a warm breeze. that's why I'm not afraid of going to Hell.
5. Social Impact: What causes are you passionate about, and how are you using your platform to make a difference?
Unconditional/universal basic income, and nuclear energy are my big two. I have some upcoming podcast episodes of dustinmartiandotcom: Art, Tech, Magick about them... but I practice posting those things sparsely and for more impact. I cannot stand when I go to an artist's social media and it's all just politics and charities and nothing to do with them. I don't like when artists do things for charity either... you're an artist, you are a charity! the entire system is stacked against you, shut up and take my money.
6. Future Projects: What exciting projects are you working on that you're excited to share with your fans?
Fox Medicine's "Bubblegum Doom Galaxy" Podcast. coming this summer 2025.
7. Biggest Challenge: What's the biggest challenge you've faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?
Watch that TV show "Silicon Valley" on HBO... at the end of every episode they solve a problem that is completely career ending and it instantly causes another potentially career ending problem they have to fix. that's what a career is like. constant challenges and doomsday devices where you have to stop the timer in the last second, and another countdown timer begins to thwart in the nick of time.
8. Advice for Aspiring Celebrities: What advice would you give to young people who aspire to follow in your footsteps?
Two paddles in the water at all times. go all in, or don't go in at all. and when the boat starts to sink, there's always a life raft. if you start moving on the path intended for you... all sorts of doors open for you along the way. don't be afraid to get messy. every choice made is a choice against something else so, choose wisely.
9. Unconventional Interests: What are some of your hobbies or interests that people might be surprised to learn about?
I like to walk into random buildings and ask whoever is available what they do and are about. I like to collect stories from strangers and I like old historic buildings.
10. The Feeling: How does it feel to be a top celebrity?
Top celebrity...bottom celebrity, it's all the same to me.
